CHRONIC PAIN SERVICE

The aim of our chronic pain team is to encourage safe and effective pain management for people referred to our service as out-patients.

Bearing in mind the wide geographical spread of the area, we try to help patients with a chronic pain problem achieve the best possible quality of life by enhancing self-management strategies and improving functional performance.

The chronic pain team comprises Dr Jason Davies, Consultant in Anaesthetics and Pain Management, and Sister Audrey Paterson, Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Chronic Pain. We also have input from Lindsay Barr, Locality Pharmacist for Oban, Lorn and the Isles and have access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy and British Pain Society group sessions which are held in Oban.

We provide outpatient clinic services in Oban, Lochgilphead and Campbeltown and we offer a range of treatments and advice, including:

  • Medication management
  • Specialised anaesthetic treatments and procedures
